Clipper Yacht Harbor, Sausalito, California
We waved goodbye to our good friends. All geared up with adrenalin flowing to sail out beyond the Golden Gate bridge south to where the sun shines. I make some last goodbye calls with engine running. Am excited. We’ll get through this next leg without mishaps.
Not!
“We’re flying to Mexico!” Russ says with his nose in the engine.
Again, water in the oil. Turn around. Tie up. We are going nowhere for awhile! I called my friend Isabella to tell her. She thought I meant we were flying with the winds south.
Run around looking for a slip like Orphan Annies. Got one at Clipper Yacht Harbor for $800 bucks for a month through January 5. Find a mechanic. Mike Lord, the best around. He will come Wednesday and work the engine problem, which could be replacing the head gasket.
Zulu is swallowing our pound, shillings and pence in a big way.Transcend it. Go and have a beer at the club. Take in the art show. Sip wine. Go and listen to some jazz in Berkley. Go out to have Pakistani food. Arrange for a house in Sayulita, Mexico. Book air tickets. We can’t wait to meet up with Sarah, Vanessa, and Ian and enjoy the sun and sea and fish and fruit. To have some FUN!
Happy Holidays to our friends and family spread all over the world. Until the New Year, enjoy present moments.
With much love!
